Mornington Life Saving Club is an integral part of the local community providing a safe beach environment, water safety and surf life saver training.
We are first and foremost a Life Saving Patrol Club, who provide an invaluable service to the local community by making Mills Beach one of the safest in the area. Water Safety is the main focus of MLSC and through our Nipper training program we provide a fun and competitive environment for all our younger members to learn about water safety.
Nippers is a fantastic activity for your kids to have fun on the beach, learn some water safety techniques, keep fit and make new friends.
At Mornington Life Saving Club, we cater for all fitness levels and abilities.
The club’s Youth - Seniors group provides a controlled social outlet for teenagers wanting to further their fitness, lifesaving abilities and competition skills.
Open - Masters age group are welcome to join in the Senior training and keep fit during the season. Opportunities to compete at carnivals and championships is an option.
MLSC has a strong Schools program that has been running successfully for over 20 years. Awarded the 2025 Community Education Achievement Award; highlights the vital role we play in educating the next generation about water safety and showcases how exceptional our program truly is.
A family camp is run every Sept School holidays in Qld with more information available on our private Facebook page for MLSC members.
For all age groups, our main training day is Sunday, but optional coaching sessions are run in summer and winter including swim, board and running training at an extra cost. This year we have a few Friday night twilight sessions as part of the Nipper calendar which makes for a fun night on the beach to stay around afterwards for dinner and a drink while the kids play with their mates.
Fundraising is also important for us. We ask that each family helps out on your age group allocated BBQ roster a few times throughout the season.
If you have children that want to compete at Life Saving Carnivals, one family member should work towards being qualified as a carnival official or obtain a bronze to provide water safety. Bronze courses will be run at the club by a qualified officer at the club.
Social activities will be organised throughout the season - so keep an eye out for dates and times on our private club facebook page.
