Senior Carnivals
Senior Carnivals are great fun and I encourage you all to have a go at some stage during the season. They are a bit more casual, with the responsibility on the athlete to get themselves to the start line with the correct gear on time. Generally, there is little marshalling compared to the Nippers Carnivals. There is also no age manager to Marshall you and carry your gear, it is up to you. Some Carnivals are Water Only and some carnivals are Beachy Only.
I encourage you all to obtain your SRC, which will also be a requirement if you are wanting to compete. SRC also allows you to Patrol. Once you have obtained your SRC you will be issued with your Patrol Uniform, A proud day. To compete at States you will need a certain number of patrol hours throughout the season.
Seniors offer the opportunities to be more social and interact with all seniors as we are one big group. We train together, compete in combined age groups, patrol together and you can participate in as many aspects of the club as you wish. If there is a particular aspect of the club that is of interest to you, talk to me and I can help point you in the right direction.
Communication
Seniors have their own Facebook Page and Team App. Most communication is via Facebook. Please ensure you are members of these 2 social media sites to ensure you receive all of the information for Seniors.
This season we will be looking to organise some events for our seniors and some post-training pizza nights and BBQs.
Training will commence as soon as we have the go ahead from the Victorian Government and LSV.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I look forward to seeing you on the beach.
Regards
Simon Williams
